Following ongoing protests sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini in September 2022, the human rights crisis in Iran has caused ripples across world news. With art a longstanding tool deployed as a powerful means of opposing oppressive forces, the past four months have seen the art world rally behind the cause with ferocity.

Moderated by journalist Melissa Gronlund, our panel of Iranian artists and cultural practitioners discuss the industry’s response to this political turmoil, with artists Anahita Rezvani-Rad and Soheila Sokhanvari, as well as academic and researcher Katy Shahandeh, speaking about how creatives are standing in solidarity.
