ARJUN WANEY
ARJUN WANEY
Senior Director & Principal Shareholder
Arjun Waney earned outstanding success initially in investment management and the retail business with Pier 1 Imports Inc. in the USA. He is Chairman, Managing Director and principal shareholder of Argent Fund Management Limited which he manages on a day to day basis and includes a range of investment ventures.

Some of his more well known business ventures in the London restaurant scene include the highly acclaimed Japanese brands Zuma and Roka, which he co-founded with Rainer Becker and which have achieved remarkable success.

On the back of this success, Arjun went on to obtain the franchise to the La Petite Maison brand (The original restaurant is in Nice, France) and opened the first London site in Mayfair in 2007. Within six weeks of opening, the venue has been packed for lunch and dinner and has been profitable since week one.

The brands Zuma, Roka and Le Petite Maison are now expanding globally.

Arjun attributes the success of his restaurant ventures to his carefully selected staff, and handpicked Raphael Duntoye amongst others for their involvement in the Arts Club.
RAPHAEL DUNTOYE
RAPHAEL DUNTOYE
Chef Director
Nigerian born Chef Patron Raphael Duntoye changed course in 1995 from his chosen career of engineering to follow a life-long passion for food and cooking. Joining Butlers Wharf Chef School he embarked on a journey that would lead him to become Chef Patron of an award winning kitchen at Le Petite Maison.

Raphael spent a defining 5 years working at the side of Pierre Koffman at the 3 Michelin Star La Tante Claire. Raphael credits this time and Koffman, with teaching him how to "really cook". He is in esteemed company; Koffmans' role call of proteges is one of the most distinguished in British culinary history and includes Gordon Ramsay, Marcus Wareing, Tom Aitkens and Michel Roux Jr.

Soon ready to spread his wings, take on new challenges and cuisine, Raphael went on to work as Executive Sous Chef at Sketch in Mayfair and later Senior Sous Chef working with Rainer Becker at Japanese restaurant Zuma in Knightsbridge. His heart however remained with the flavours of France.

Having built a reputation for subtlety, sureness, a lightness of touch and a reverence for the best fresh produce, Raphael with his pedigree in French cooking was an obvious choice for a new French/Mediterrainean project La Petite Maison planned by Arjun Waney.

It was in June of 2007 on a light filled street corner of Brook Mews in Mayfair that Raphael created his defining menu of simple French food made from the best handpicked produce and La Petite Maison was cemented firmly as a favourite amongst London's most discerning diners.

Raphael was selected for the position of Chef Director at The Arts Club by Arjun Waney which he will combine with his current position at La Petite Maison.
